A carabiner multi tool, not a carabiner with a tool bolted on. The tools are milled into the corners of the frame: a box cutter, a bottle opener, a Phillips driver and a flathead. It is the only GPCA carabiner offered in aluminum as well as steel and titanium, which is how the price starts where it does.

The screw gate hides a Secret Capsule, a small compartment that takes a ferro rod, a rolled bill or a pill.

What the four tools are for

The box cutter is a replaceable blade module, not a folding knife, so it opens boxes and cuts tape and cord and nothing heavier. The bottle opener is cut into the opposite corner and needs no disassembly. The Phillips and flathead drivers are milled into the frame ends, sized for the screws on a battery hatch or a pair of glasses rather than for cabinet work.

Flying with it

The blade is the only part the TSA cares about, and it comes off. One Torx T8 screw holds the box cutter module; back it out, put the module in checked baggage, and the rest of the carabiner goes through as hardware. GPCA designed it that way on purpose. Pack the Torx bit, or you will not be putting it back together at the other end.

Which GPCA carabiner

The line splits three ways: screw-gate carabiners, lever-style Loop clips and the flat X-Clip.

There is a full GPCA carabiner review, and a comparison against six other EDC carabiners if you are not set on the brand.
